When we are in Florida there is always a lot of things to do. One that we find peculiar, but somewhat fun with a group of friends is to go to Nokomis Beach on Saturday evening and hear the drummers. Sometimes 20-25 people gather on the beach with their bongo drums and just start pounding away on their instruments. The beat gets established and then it just becomes repetitive. Some ladies dress in costume and dance around the sand. And, after a glass of wine the group of friends usually start dancing around the sand, also. Once in a while there is a lady who blows into a big conk shell when the sun sets. It is kind of weird, but always a fun time with friends, a good laugh and entertainment.
