The Nappanee Welcome Center Quilt Garden continues to flourish. Recently the all-volunteer committee enjoyed a decorated apple cake from Sonya Nash of the ECCVB.
This committee is now in the process of reviewing a new design and application for the 2012 tour. For the past two years the committee has determined their quilt design based on something significant to the community – last year’s being the Culp School House. The apple design this year is commemorative of the locally owned Miller family orchard and the Nappanee Apple Festival. Festival dates this year are September 15-18.
With the quilt garden site being located behind the Welcome Center, visitors are encouraged to stop into the center and tour the Heritage Museum which is rich with Nappanee history. Both the welcome center and quilt garden sites have been visited by people from 15-20 international countries and most states, indicating that the ECCVB quilt garden tour continues to build national attention. We are looking for some new volunteers because we are getting overworked!!! We need help!
